Resonating numbers from an indeterminate source.
The sound of water falling is an unstable texture, at times it sounds like white noise, other times it falls into a rhythm determined by its physical context. There is no determined pitch or rhythm, however the falling of water in a shower is not completely random either. It forms patterns which are dictated by the nature and construction of the shower head, the pressure of the water, the shape of the shower floor, the materials the water interacts with, the temperature of the water and so on. This piece explores these intricacies by using a recording of water falling as the base audio for a resonating harmonic process bringing life to these patterns through tonal synthesis.
